The Center for International Chinese Education, SZTU

The Center for International Chinese Education at Shenzhen Technology University, affiliated to the School of Foreign Languages, was established in March 2021 to promote the teaching and research of Chinese language and culture for international students. Currently, there are two full-time faculty members. The center offers courses such as “IntroductiontoChinese Culture” (Chinese and English), “Chinese Writing”, “Introduction to Classics of Chinese Thoughts”, and “Selected Readings of Chinese Literary Classics” for students of the School of Foreign Languages, as well as “Chinese” and “Overview of China” for international students. It also offers university-wide elective GE courses such as “Appreciation of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature”, “Aesthetics and Appreciation of Art”. In addition, the center hosts a series of GE lectures, organizes competitions on Chinese language, culture and literature, and holds cultural exchange events such as “Online Mandarin Class between Chinse and South Korean Students”.

In January 2022, the University founded the Language Affairs Committee, which is operated by the Center for International Chinese Education.
