Founded in April 2020, the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) comprises of seven departments, including the English Department, the Business English Department, the German Department, the Multilingual Teaching Center, Center for International Chinese Education (TCSOL), College English Department and College German Department. It also embraces three practice-oriented Studio/centers and three research centers, namely the Foreign Language Studio, the Translation Center, the Writing Center, and the Intercultural and Area Studies Research Center, the German Industrial Civilization Research Center, and the Center for Technology Enhanced Language Learning (CTELL).
Our faculty members come from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including but not limited to Foreign Language and Literature, Chinese Language and Literature, Education Studies, Linguistics, Translation Studies, Economics and Management. Currently, there are over 60 full-time faculty and staff in SFL, including 12 designated as Overseas High-Level Talents and 9 international scholars, most of whom graduated from world renowned universities. It is a young and international team with passion and substantial experience in cross-cultural research and education.
