On December 12, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (HH) held an online signing ceremony. On behalf of SZTU and HH respectively, Prof. Ming Zhong, vice-president of SZTU, and Mr. Jouni Ahonen, vice-president of HH signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on collaboration in talent development and academic exchange. The signing ceremony builds a bridge of communication and cooperation between HH and SZTU.

During the ceremony, Prof. Ming said that SZTU is a public institution of higher education established by Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipality with a sound beginning and high standards. SZTU has attached great importance to international exchange and cooperation since its establishment, aiming to build itself as an open and innovative international university with Chinese characteristic and global outlook. He also expressed his hope that the exchange and cooperation between the two universities in the fields of higher education, science and technology will be further strengthened and promoted through the establishment of various exchange programs.

Mr. Jouni Ahonen was highly impressed by the campus construction and rapid development of SZTU. He said that expanding cooperation with Chinese universities is crucial for the development of Finnish universities, which will facilitate cultural exchange and promote academic and scientific research on an international level.

Currently, SZTU has established cooperative relationships with over 70 universities in Germany, Switzerland, and other countries. Ms. Zeng Siyu, director of International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office at SZTU, stated that it is the first time SZTU has established a cooperative relationship with universities in Northern Europe. She hoped that the two universities could collaborate in the future to provide a favorable learning environment for students, cultivate talents with an international horizon.

Mr. Jari Luomakoski, project manager of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences China-Network, and Mr. Pasi Halmari, programme manager of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences China-Network have also attended the online signing ceremony.
