Specialty Characteristics:English + Concentration Curriculum System
English major is directed by the needs of national and social development aiming to establish a talent-cultivating system with the characteristics of new liberal arts in accordance with the university specialisation. It is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary, innovative and applied talents who are “familiar with Western cultures, specialising in a particular field, and mastering multiple foreign languages”. Students’ learning journey will be divided into two stages: fundamental course period (year 1 & year 2) and specialty course period with three different concentrations (year 3 & year 4), namely, culture and society of English speaking countries, English education and technology, and multilingual communication. The whole process focuses on facilitating students with specialized foreign language proficiency, critical thinking and pragmatic abilities so that they are able to work in various English related entities, training centres and institutions, or pursuing a further study.
